Peter Eastgate has announced that he will be quitting poker for an undefined time period and that he needs time to focus on other things in his life besides poker.

Players that participate in Rush Poker games will be rewarded with extra cash starting on July 12th and ending on July 18th. The amount of money won will be determined by the amount of FTPs earned during the specified time period.

The total entrants on day 1A of the main event at the WSOP was 1,125 players. Greg Raymer was among the field and the ‘04 main event champion lasted for a bit more than an hour before hitting the rail.

A total of 191 players entered event #52 and the total prize pool exceeded $4.5 million. Dan Kelly was able to outplay the competition in order to take down the first place prize of $1.3 million.

Phil Gordon had an outstanding performance in the Ante Up for Africa Event, he was able to outplay the 82 other players that entered the tournament to take down the first place prize of $130K.

Carbon Poker recently announced that Shannon Elizabeth is now part of their poker pro line-up. She is mainly a successful actress but her poker skills are top notch, and she proved it in 2007 at the National Heads-Up Poker Championship by taking on some of the biggest names in poker and outplaying them.

The event started with 191 players and 113 of them hit the rail on day one, day two will be starting today until a the final table is set. Some of the big names in the field are: Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Phil Galfond, Erik Lindgren and Daniel Negreanu among others.

David Williams was removed from the Bodog pro line-up just after he won the WPT Championship for $1.5 million. He remained unlinked to any online poker room for a few weeks until now, Pokerstars has just signed him.

Scott Montgomerie has had an incredible performance at the 2010 WSOP events, he has cashed for more than half a million dollars and recently won a gold bracelet in event #36. He will most likely continue to play in the remaining events and he might be able to add more winnings to his already successful run at the WSOP events.

Chris Bell managed to outplay a field of 284 players in the $5K Pot Limit Omaha Eight or Better event. His run in the final table was remarkable, since he started as the short stack and build his chip stack to dominate the table and take down the gold bracelet.
